The beach resort of Isla Canela is in the province of Huelva, near the Portuguese border. Isla Canela is a natural island united to Ayamonte by a bridge, is ideal for vacations on one side and another of the border. Very popular with tourists, it has a resident population of only 250 people.
This beautiful island has recently been converted into a luxury resort and is today a sophisticated holiday destination. The 7-kilometer stretch of beautiful golden sandy beaches are the main attraction of this resort, which is quiet even in the summer. The protected natural environment has a rich fauna and navigable channels.
The other attraction is the stunning marina with its upscale restaurants and shops. At the Yacht Club you can rent boats, jet skis and canoes. Isla Canela also has its own 18-hole golf course and is close to another 7 courses.
A short walk over a bridge takes us to the beautiful town of Ayamonte which also houses the fishing port where there is plenty to see and do.
The region is known for the grilled fish, the squids and of course the Andalusian tapas.
Isla Canela has an exceptional climate, with an average annual temperature of 20ºC.
